Create a blog

Create your blog in eduBuzz.org

Writing a post

  1. Formatting text
  2. Adding a link
  3. Choosing or creating a category
  4. Adding a picture
  5. Saving a post and publishing posts
  6. Changing the look
  7. Advanced stuff: Adding a page and looking at plugins

Play for 50 mins

Challenge Option 1: Find two blog posts written by someone else that you like. On your blog, write a post where you build on what those bloggers have said.

Challenge Option 2: Create the beginning of a creative writing task, using an image or video as your inspiration starter-for-ten.

Discuss and plan 20 mins

Some ideas to get started:

1. Post links to sites that cannot be used in school or are too slow.

2. Keep comments offline and only make them public at the last minute – keep students’ ideas original
3. Photo slideshows to summarise projects (Environmental projects etc)
4. Post dates of events in the school (use the Event Calendar widget)
5. Publish best work
6. Use categories to organise resources
7. Put questions to the PTA, teachers or pupils
8. Two stars and a wish comments on work
9. Book reviews
