TeachMeet Roadshows

Glow Mentor delivery of the TeachMeet Roadshow

The TeachMeet Roadshow is a flexible training format which can be adapted to suit the particular group with whom you are working.

The format, too, can change over time. You can add and alter your ways of working on this page just by clicking "Edit page".

It is based around small steps, offering something for the novice and the experienced user. It encourages active participation in using the technology and planning out how it might be used in a forthcoming lesson.

Structure

A TeachMeet Roadshow structure works something like this:

  1. Showing a final product of learning e.g. a photo album, shared film or animation, a podcast/radio show, a school news service or best work log (blog)
  2. Showing, from the simplest steps, how that final product was made
  3. Encouraging teachers to have a go in groups on the equipment, software and web services
  4. Spending time planning an imminent unit of work or project which will involve the technology and collaborative activity the tools encourage.
  5. Briefly showing what other Roadshows are on offer for the group (the other four from Digital Images, Filmmaking, Animation, School Radio Show, Publishing student work)
  6. Highlighting what CPD opportunities are already advertised through the CPD calendar and eduBuzz Support and Training pages

Resources

We will build up an equipment and instruction bank for each Roadshow. What equipment or online services do we need for each workshop for 30 people to take part?
